Representative Clients and Matters

Estate of Giraldin, 55 Cal.4th 1058 (2012) – Lead trial attorney and appellate attorney for this landmark California Supreme Court case which established the right of remainder beneficiaries to bring actions for breach of fiduciary duties after the death of the trustor of a revocable trust.

Estate of Boyle, LASC – Lead trial attorney in a trust contest in which a trust amendment was deemed invalid and the educational institution represented by Freeman Freeman & Smiley thereby received the $3M gift originally intended by the trustor.

Estate of Thomas – Multiple appeals which led to a legislative revision of California’s adoption of the Uniform Principal and Income Act defining what constitutes a partial liquidation of a trust asset.
