Freeman Freeman & Smiley partner, Theodore (“Ted”) J. Roper, was invited to present at the 4th International Film Conference (IFC) on July 1 in Manila, which will be held concurrently with the 2016 World Premiers Film Festival Philippines.
Focusing on U.S. copyright laws, Mr. Roper will speak on foreign investment by Japanese corporations and the specific issues for consideration.
The yearly IFC hopes to build the capabilities of the film industry players and organizations in the ASEAN region for co-production, technical and educational collaboration, exhibitions, and cultural exchange through film.
Mr. Roper’s practice focuses on corporate, contract and commercial law. He is an established advisor on a wide range of legal matters concerning Japanese corporations from mergers and acquisitions, to employment related laws and immigration law. Mr. Roper serves as a general counsel to various Japanese corporations.
