Dawn B. Eyerly Nominated for Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2016 Leaders in Law
Dawn B. Eyerly, partner, is a nominee for the Los Angeles Business Journal’s 2016 Leaders in Law, recognizing exceptional legal skills and achievement across the full spectrum of responsibility, exemplary leadership as evidenced by the highest professional and ethical standards, and for contributions to the Los Angeles community at large. A ceremony will be held on October 18 at the JW Marriott LA Live to recognize the nominees and announce the finalists.
“Dawn’s recent successes come as no surprise to those who have worked with her and the numerous clients whom she has represented over the years. Dawn has consistently demonstrated her unique abilities as a litigator throughout her career,” said Michael Blumenfeld, Chair of the firm’s Litigation Department. “On behalf of the firm, I congratulate Dawn on this well-deserved honor.”
Ms. Eyerly is a partner in the firm’s Litigation and Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice. She has successfully tried many cases over the last 20 years. Her most prestigious win came earlier this year when she represented B. Wayne Hughes, the founder and chairman of Public Storage, in Kingoschu Family Partners, et al., v. Public Storage, et al. In that case, five classes of limited partners sued Mr. Hughes and Public Storage alleging that they breached their fiduciary duties in connection with a merger transaction that had been approved by the general partners. The Plaintiff classes sought more than $80 million against Mr. Hughes for what they deemed to be the amount of the undervalued partnership units. After five years of litigation and a nearly two-week trial, Ms. Eyerly obtained a complete defense verdict on behalf of her client.
