Bruce M. Smiley to Present at Georgetown Law’s Advanced Commercial Leasing Institute

Bruce M. Smiley, founding partner and Chair of the firm’s Real Estate Department, will co-present, “In the Blink of an Eye: ‘Pop Up’ Leasing in an Evolving Retail Environment,” at Georgetown Law’s 19th Annual Advanced Commercial Leasing Institute April 19-21.  The presentation will:

  • Explore pop ups (food trucks, containers, etc.) and critical lease issues
  • Discuss solutions to conflicts with REAs, covenants and existing leases, and
  • Assess the role of social media and omnichannel retailing.

Mr. Smilley has been a board member and speaker at the institute since 1997.  For over 35 years, he has counseled international and national companies as well as local Southern California businesses and families regarding all legal aspects of transactional real estate matters. Mr. Smiley’s practice encompasses both public and private sector transactional real estate law with an emphasis on commercial and industrial leasing, commercial acquisition and sales, construction contracts and disputes, finance, retail shopping center matters, environmental matters, workouts and eminent domain disputes.
