Freeman Freeman & Smiley employment attorney Teresa R. Tracy was a featured panelist on a November 13 webinar focusing on preparing for ICE workplace investigations.

To date, ICE seems to have targeted employers in the hospitality/food processing, convenience store, and agricultural industries; places where low-wage employees are likely to work.  However, no workplace is immune.  California, in particular, is complicated due to our state law.

The seminar is national in scope, but spent some time discussing California and the likely trend of other states adopting laws similar to what we have in California.
